Seedr V2 has a dedicated Tasks tab. Every active and recent download sits in one list with progress, speed, ETA, and pause/resume controls. It replaces the scattered V1 layout where transfers lived in two or three different panels.

Why we built it

In V1, tracking downloads was harder than it should have been:

• Active transfers were in one panel.
• Finished transfers were mixed into your file tree.
• Errors and paused tasks weren't always visually distinct.
• On mobile, the whole thing was cramped.

You'd see a half-done download and not be sure whether it had stalled, errored, or just slowed. Users told us they avoided starting multiple parallel tasks because they couldn't keep track.

V2 pulls everything into a single tab that's designed for one job: showing you what's downloading and what just finished.

What's new

The Tasks tab, top-left of the V2 window, shows:

• Every active download with a real-time progress bar.
• Current download speed per task.
• Estimated time remaining.
• Task status — running, paused, queued, error.
• Source information (the download link or webpage URL you pasted).

You can:

• Pause any active task.
• Resume any paused task.
• Cancel and remove.
• Retry a failed task without re-pasting the link.

Before V2: check active area, scroll file tree for completed, guess why one is stuck. After V2: one list, colour-coded status, every control in reach.

The Files tab (for browsing your stored content) and the Activity tab (coming, for a full account log) sit next to Tasks in the same nav strip.

How to use it today

1. Open Seedr V2.
2. Click the Tasks tab, top-left.
3. You see every download in one list.

To pause a task, click the pause icon next to it. To resume, click the resume icon. To cancel, click the X.

If a task errors, the row turns red and shows the reason (source unreachable, timeout, invalid link). You can retry or remove — the source link is preserved so you don't re-paste.

A detail that matters

Because Seedr's downloads run server-side, pausing a task in the Tasks tab pauses it on our servers — not on your device. You can close the tab, close the browser, or reboot your laptop without affecting the pause state. When you come back and hit resume, the task picks up from where it stopped.

What's coming

The Tasks tab is live, but a few pieces are still rolling in:

• Completed tasks view. Right now the list focuses on active and recent items. A toggle to show full download history is coming.
• Activity tab. Separate from Tasks; will log uploads, shares, and file operations alongside downloads.
• Multi-source selection. When a link has several mirrors, you'll pick the closest or fastest source manually.

These are in development. The tab works today without them — it's just missing history depth.

Troubleshooting from the Tasks tab

Most download issues can be diagnosed from the Tasks list:

• Slow task. Check the speed column. If it's low across all tasks, it's likely a server-side issue; if it's only one task, the source is probably slow.
• Stuck at 99%. Usually final piece verification. Give it a minute.
• Error: source unavailable. The link no longer resolves. Try a different source.
• Error: timeout. The source responded too slowly. Retry.

Because the download runs on our servers, your local connection speed doesn't affect transfer progress. You only need stable internet when you paste the initial link.
